Understanding

Interview

To gain a deeper understanding of the challenges users face when booking appointments, I conducted two remote interviews. During these interviews, users were asked to walk through their appointment booking process and provide commentary on their experience, allowing me to identify their pain points and specific needs.

The interview helped to gather any common issues users may encounter. Some insights gathered were:

Empathy Map

This helped to give a visual comprehensive of the user needs and helped with the order of making the decision.

Competitive Analysis

3 competitors were researched to have a concept of what other products offered.

Analysis

User Journey Map

The user journey map was created to visualize the goals users are aiming to achieve and the emotions they may experience at each stage

Information Architecture

The site map gave a clearer overview on how the pages will be connected with each other.

Design

Early Sketches

Sketch ideas for the website pages.
Rough idea for phone version.

Low-Fidelity Prototype

Wireframes, for the website and phones versions, were created with a tiered layer cake layout. This layout enables users to easily scan the pages from top to bottom, quickly identifying the importance of each section through subheads.

Medium-Fidelity Prototype

User Testing

I conducted a moderated testing to help identity any issues with the prototypes.
Some comments made were:

Reflection

Next time I would add more information on the homepage for users to see what is being offered right off the bat. Since this was my first time creating a responsive website, I realized not to overcomplicate things, especially when the design needs to work out in both versions of screens. I would like to do more user testing to make further improvements.
